Learn to make fresh pasta the traditional way every weekend at Sandalyn Estate, one of the Hunter Valley’s most beautiful boutique wineries and Blackwattle’s neighbour.  Enjoy a three-hour Tuscan-style cooking class teaching you the traditional art of pasta making.  Learn the magic of turning flour and free range eggs, sticky fingers and laughter into mouth-watering pasta – the way it’s been done for generations.  The class concludes with a leisurely two-course alfresco lunch where the star attraction is you and the pasta you’ve just made.

Learn how to compile a tantalising menu, find and select the best local produce and balance the fundamental flavours of Asian cuisine. Lovedale Smokehouse and Gourmet Pantry
64 Major’s Lane, Lovedale
The smokehouse was initially built to supply premium quality smoked goods for Major’s Lane restaurant however due to the enormous demand from customers for “take home” smoked goods , the owners decided to open a “Gourmet Pantry” which carries a full range of hand made produce and smoked goods. The raw produce is sourced from some of Australia’s finest graziers and fishing regions and then cured and smoked by the dedicated team of chefs from Majors Lane Restaurant and packaged for your convenience.  All goods are smoked on-site using grapevine clippings from the vineyard on which they are located.
The product range includes:
– huge selection of Hunter Valley cheeses
– Smoked trout & pate
– Smoked and air dried beef
– Smoked sausages
– Terrines including veal, chicken, rabbit and quail
– Smoked olive tappenade made from estate grown olives

Binnorie Dairy produces a range of cheeses with distinctive characters unavailable outside the region, achieved by using only locally sourced milk. The flagship cheese is the delicious Marinated Fetta, but we also love the Labna, Duetto and ….really all of them!

The Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese Shop

Enjoy a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where food lovers can be excited by a fabulous selection of local and imported cheese, and a select range of delicacies from providores such as Simon Johnson and Maggie Beer. Their staff are foodies with considerable experience in the hospitality/5-star food industries.
