Q. How far are the retreats from each other?
A. 100 metres apart. The retreats have been designed for maximum privacy. Olive trees and native Australian plants have been planted between each building, and each deck faces a different direction for as much privacy as possible. (please see photo). The back of each cottage can be seen from the other cottage.

Q. Is breakfast included?
A. Yes - yummy breakfast provisions are included and consist of a selection of gourmet muesli and cereals, as well as bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, bread, jams, butter, margarine, milk and fruit juice. Plunger coffee and specialty teas are available at all times.
Q. How far is Blackwattle from all the wineries and cellar doors?
A. Blackwattle is located in the heart of the vineyard district of Hunter Wine Country. In 10 -15 minutes, you can drive to up to 80 or so cellar doors scattered around the immediate area, including Brokenwood, Tyrrells, Tempus Two and de Bortoli.
Q. Are there any shops nearby?
A. Mojo's Deli and take away coffee cafe is situated about 5 minutes away. Greta, Branxton and Cessnock shopping villages are between 7-15 minutes drive for all necessities, pharmacies etc.
Q. Does the concert shuttle bus pick up from Blackwattle?
A. Yes, the Rover Shuttle Bus can pick you up from the front gate and drop you hope again for $20 per person.

Q. Why is there a 2 night minimum?
A. One night is available midweek - please see our rates page for tariff information. One night stays on a weekend are sometimes available at the last minute and will be advertised when available on our home page, or check our availability calendar. It is simply not viable for us to offer a one night stay on a weekend for accommodation of this standard and size.
Q. Is Blackwattle in a vineyard?
A. Yes - and you are welcome to walk through the 8 acres of verdelho and shiraz on the 28 acres property. The verdelho block is directly below the two bedroom retreat and the couple's retreat looks over a number of neighboring vineyards as well as our own.

Q. Do you accept pets?
A. A small well trained dog is accepted by arrangement only in the two bedroom retreat.
